Total Quality Inspection: Continuous
Production Process Improvement
Monitoring the quality at 100% of production
allows for continuous process improvement.
By providing multiple inspection technologies
in a single material handling step, final product
quality is improved while reducing errors as well as production floor
footprint. One customer’s example is a Wilco lyo quality inspection system consisting of Head Space Analysis (HSA) for vacuum verification,
Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) for moisture, cake defect, and product
ID, and 2D Barcode printing with readability verification.

Small Lot Production
Small quantity production is often needed for applications such as clinical trials, market launch-es, and market research. Often the manufacturer does not have suitable production lines for small
batches, meaning potential waste and overproduction. Dividella’s small-batch pharmaceutical
packaging production offers a solution, with quick time to market. Dividella’s small-batch machines are a one-up machine:
no more than one magazine needs to be filled and cleared per packaging component. The carton-vacuum transfer allows
the machine to be fully accessible and products can be inserted manually or with a flexible feeding system.

Late Stage Customization for Packaging
IMA will present the POD (Production on Demand). This system permits pharmaceutical packaging facilities to produce
large batches of blisters, and at a later date customize smaller quantities within that batch as needed. It solves the issue
of small batch and low production volumes by allowing a secondary packaging of quantities with added labeling, leaflets, and cartons for a particular market of the previously packaged bulk.

Leak Detection for Lyophilized Products: Seidenader HSA O2
The headspace analyzer HSA O2 is a small
inspection station that can be integrated into any
standard automatic machine from Seidenader. A
spectroscopic process detects leaks indirectly by
analyzing the oxygen content in the gas zone of a
pharmaceutical container. The system is especially
designed for high-speed leak testing of freeze-dried products that are filled
and sealed at low pressure in a controlled atmosphere.
