Centrifugal Impact Mill
A new pharmaceutical-grade Pin Mill, model CIM-18-S316 from Munson
Machinery, grinds friable powders, flakes and granules into controlled
particle sizes ranging from coarse to fine. The outer and inner discs can
swing away from the unit on cantilevered arms, providing full access
to both sides of both discs and the mill housing. High-speed rotation of
the inner disc creates centrifugal force that accelerates bulk material
entering the central inlet of the opposing stationary disc. As material
travels from the center to the periphery of the discs at high speed, it
passes through a path of five intermeshing rows of precision-machined
rotating and stationary impactor pins, with the desired tight particle
size distribution obtained by controlling the rotor speed. Constructed of
#316 stainless steel, the unit features a sanitary butterfly valve on the air
intake, sanitary fittings at the material intake and discharge and a wash-down-duty motor.
Double Planetary Mixer
The Ross Double Planetary Mixer lined with Teflon features:
• The ability to process viscous pastes and dough-like
• The ability to provide gentle but thorough agitation.
• Removable Teflon scrapers for the sidewall and vessel
• Identical blades that rotate on their own axes while
orbiting a common axis.
• A 1.5 HP inverter-duty motor.
• Explosion-proof limit switches.
Enhanced Feeder Accuracy
Coperion K-Tron announces the release of the redesigned D5
scale for its high-accuracy loss-in-weight feeders. The new design
encompasses an ATEX 3D rating, improved accuracy and reli-ability, the elimination of grooves and crevices, and gaskets and
membranes have been modified to prevent the deposit of dust
and product residue. The new fasteners also allow for quicker
dismantling of the base plate. The pharmaceutical version also
features polished material contact surfaces.
